An angel calls the birds
"And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven,
Come
and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great Yahuwah; That ye
may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of
mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and
the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." (Rev.
19:17:18)
We have seen Christ on the white horse ready to slay the wicked with the sword of His mouth 1915. Now an angel appears calling the birds to feast on the flesh of kings and even horses. The kings then join the beast to fight the one on the horse. Then beast and false prophet are cast into the fire and the birds filled themselves with flesh.

The Fowl of heaven are the judgement Yahuwah brings
upon the disobedient and rebellious, those that do not love Him. He holds back judgement (or the enemy) when we obey. But when we disobey The Most High cannot cover us because He will not break His own law.
Our willfull disobedience destroys us, not Him. He gives choice and grace for a period of time, but when the grace runs out, He allows the enemy to discipline us to bring us back to Him. Many may die and many be slain by the sword, who do not turn back or away from their sin. This is the consequences or wages of sin that bring forth death that He warns us of...His laws are protective boundaries to keep us from the harm of the enemy. He put His laws in place for our protection NOT for our bondage. When you understand this you want to obey His commands and they are not burdensome. They are the way of Life and they become your delight.
All through the Holy Scripture God punished His people when they become wicked, along with the wicked, through wild beasts, the fowl of heaven, jackels ,liliths, satyrs, lions,doleful creatures,owls and dragons Isaiah 13:21 .Look these terms up in the hebrew and you will see that these are demonic creatures(demons) that the Lord "visits" on His backslidden people; because they refused to repent and turn away from their wickedness. After much pleading through his holy prophets, The Almighty sent these things into the houses and palaces of "the wicked" to desolate them. Read, study the word "desolation" and how the Lord desolates His sanctuary...which is His people! He desolates what has become an abomination to Him. He departs from them leaving them to the creatures in the spirit world that come to devour, to ruin, to spoil, to kill and to destroy.
He punishes the arrogant and the proud and the haughty with these beings. They even manifest themselves visibly and invisbly through the flesh of men and through beast. His commandments are not suggestions and as we presume upon His mercy and continue in disobedience. there always is a day of reckoning and recompense. He is not mocked. if we sow sin we reap the wages of death and destruction. If we sow to the flesh we reap destruction. If we ignore His commands we will pay in this life and when pay day comes, the enemy is not playing and he will make sure, because of the "legal rights" we gave him... to make us pay every cent.
Judgement begins with the household of God. Judgement is when the wrath of God is demonstrated upon those who do not obey the gospel. The last dispensation before Christ returns, seemingly, The Almighty, in the Book of The Unveiling of Jesus Christ ie Revelations, is the same Elohim we see that the hebrews knew in the Old Testament. The Holy Father and The Son are One. Christ did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He said..."If you love me, keep My commandments. The law is kept through loving Him suprememly and is written upon our hearts. If we Love Him we will keep His commandments and this is His commandment- that we love one another that our joy be made full. If we love Him we will love, from the heart, our brother, If we love Him, abiding by His law means dying to ourselves, being crucified with Him. If we Love Him we will amend not to bring reproach upon His Name anymore. That's it.
Loving Truth and obeying the Truth is observing All of His Commandments. Being careful to observe all that He says and hearkening unto the voice of The Great Shepherd, simply put...
| But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments . . . that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field. . . . And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. (Deut. 28:15, 16, 26) |
Standing in the sun
Why would the angel be in the sun? This is not good news for the masses of humanity who have chosen the way of evil.
"And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (2 Thess. 2:8-10). Also compare 1608 where the angel poured out his bowl on the sun.
The "Wicked" one Paul describes is the antichrist, the one who opposes and exalts himself above God (v.4). In our current chapter, he is the beast that gets thrown into the fire while his followers are killed and eaten. The one standing in the sun is then calling for the punishment of the beast and of the kings and everyone else who joins him.

Brightness
The angel stands in the brightness of the coming of Christ (Matt. 16:27). The wicked one, along with those who have chosen to follow him, are destroyed by the brightness of the Lord's coming. They cannot endure the purity of His character. We have seen this angel before (or one like him)
"And . . . I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, not on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads." (7:1-3).
The other angel ascends from the east. The Hebrew for "East," is literally, "rising of the sun." Here in chapter 19, the angel stands in the full, bright sun. The breeze of the early four winds is to become a hurricane. The four angels and the angel in the sun are standing � an indication that they are ready for action (See Dan. 11:2-4). Let's compare the scene when the sixth trumpet sounds.
"And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: . . ." (9;14-16).
We may take these horsemen to be the same ones who ride their white horses with Christ. They are the angels of heaven 1915.
Where else do we see the birds?
Here is the passage: "And he [a mighty angel from heaven] cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird(demonic). For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. . . ." (18:2, 3)
The major source for the imagery comes from Ezekiel. See ez3917.
We saw the caged birds as deceptive religious doctrines of the massive end-time religious power 1802bi. After Christ on the white horse slays the wicked by the sword of truth of His mouth, the deceptive teachings will devour those who taught these things, removing the end-time wicked from further sympathy. These leaders and the horses (or people who supported them 1601ch) do not receive an honorable burial. (Compare to the death of the two witnesses 1109.)
The birds flying in mid-heaven (the atmosphere) is in contrast to the three angels who flew there 1406d. In fact, this comparison is included in the table matching concepts between chapters 14 and 19 � r19t. The birds could also represent the evil angels.

Come eat kings, mighty men, horses and all
"Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great." (Rev. 19:18)

Horse meat
The horses were seen in chapter 6 as the people who follow their leader as a horse follows the direction of its rider. Perhaps the same pertains here 0601ch.
19:19

"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Rev. 19:19-21)
This critical time of the final battle against the Lamb is seen several times in the book of Revelation.

Beast and prophet tossed into the fire
"And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (Rev. 19:19-21)
I included verse 19 in the text above to show the "battle." They gather and then are taken. Of course their "capture" has some action, but the text doesn't describe it. This is also the picture seen in the description of the battle of Armageddon of chapter 16 and with the ten kings of chapter 17. See texts above.
The slaying of the false prophet is drawn from the experience of Elijah after Mt. Carmel re1616fp. We see this also in the book of Daniel da0711. Casting the beast into the fire may have been drawn from the experience of the golden calf de0921.
Why now?
Why would beast and false prophet be sent to the flames now to wait through the thousand years? They apparently don't. We look at this question and more, in connection with the lake of fire in chapter 20. r20o. These two are false religious systems. God acts in total fairness. I believe that he brings these two systems down at a time when the people involved will understand His justice. Leaders and followers of the systems are punished at this time. Let's look back at the plagues. The three-part alliance breaks up at the time of the seventh plague apparently when the people involved see that they have been deceived re1508al.
The remnant slain(backslidden and the wicked) by the sword
"And the remnant [of the wicked] were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh." (Rev. 19:21)
The kings and armies are left to be slain apart from those systems that had been their shelter � their chosen structure of deception. Many will have given all their energies and resources to make the systems work for their salvation. Now they stand with their sand-based house washed away � alone to experience the fury of the storm. The Scriptures, as a sword, condemns them. They are without excuse and are slain to lie dead over the surface of the earth.

Surprise
"They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed." (Luke 17:27-30)
How can we avoid being swept into the end-time false religious movement? Only by staying close to the Lord and by depending on His word. Listen to the prayer of Jesus: "They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17) Grapes image © Correl.

God
gets the glory when He delivers a tiny Israel from such a host of her enemies
that no one in their right mind could ever anticipate victory. Keep this Biblical
fact in mind as we go through the rest of this article.
FINAL
CALL TO FEASTING ON THE FLESH OF THE FALLEN
Now, what are we
to make of the fact that Israelites are suddenly protecting these ugly, filthy,
disgusting vultures with a zeal akin to environmentalists protecting a bird on
the Endangered Species list? Let us review our news article, written by a Christian
author, Noah Hutchings, whose books we carry in our bookstore.NEWS BRIEF: "Israeli Love Birds", by Dr. Noah W. Hutchings, Prophetic Observor, July 4, 2004
The buzzards of Israel are displaying affection for each other in multiplying and also, the Israeli people have a rather strange affection for the buzzards ... The birds of prey are frequently poisoned by Israeli farmers. Israel's 'Spreading Wings' program to resuscitate the vulture population has set up 20 feeding and nesting stations around the country.
When the Jews were absent from the land during the Diaspora, the land became a virtual desert. With no trees or grain crops, the wild animal and bird population of Israel, including the vultures, disappeared. Now that Israel is back, trees cover the land and extensive farming of all kinds provides food for the birds and wild animals once more. The vulture population at Gamla on the east side of the Sea of Galilee has been increasing in recent years, but pesticides and eating deer and other animals which have been shot has also poisoned some vultures.
But, setting up nesting and feeding stations for vultures throughout Israel is increasing the vulture population. Now, even mating vultures that have been injured and cannot fly are mating because of the scientific effort which has made this type of mating possible. Why does Israel have such an affinity for vultures? Prophetic Scriptures assign a very important function to the fowls of the air who feast primarily on carrion, like vultures, after Jesus has slaughtered untold millions of the army of Antichrist. Listen:
"Then I saw a single angel stationed in the sun's light, and with a mighty voice he shouted to all the birds that fly across the sky, Come, gather yourselves together for the great supper of God, That you may feast on the flesh of rulers, the flesh of generals and captains, the flesh of powerful and mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all humanity, both free and slave, both small and great!"
"... And the rest were killed with the sword that issues from the mouth of Him Who is mounted on the horse, and all the birds fed ravenously and glutted themselves with their flesh." This description is of the so-called "Battle of Armageddon". I do not use the word, "battle" for the "Battle of Armageddon" shall be a complete slaughter of the soldiers and leaders of the army of Antichrist, with no casualties amongst the Armies of Heaven led by Jesus Christ (Rev 19:14-15). The Bible says that Jesus shall simply say one word and they shall all fall slain. The unsaved world has recreated what the Battle of Armageddon really is, teaching that it is a final battle fought between the mighty nations of the earth at the very End of the Age. The Bible cannot allow this interpretation as you can see for yourself by reading Revelation 16:16 and 19:11-21.
Let us take a moment now to read an interesting commentary on these verses.
"The carcasses of God's enemies shall be food for all the fowls of heaven. This is according to a Jewish tradition, Synopsis Sohar, p. 114, n. 25: "In the time when God shall execute vengeance for the people of Israel, he shall feed all the beasts of the earth for twelve months with their flesh and all the fowls for seven years." It is well known that both beasts and birds of prey are accustomed to frequent fields of battle, and live upon the slain. There shall be a universal destruction; the kings, generals, captains, and all their host, shall be slain." —Adam Clarke's Commentary
The emphasis in this verse is upon the general term, "birds of prey", birds that feed on the flesh of the dead. In this case, as noted above, the dead shall be lying in great numbers on a field of slaughter.
Notice also the words, "... a single angel stationed in the sun's light, and with a mighty voice he shouted to all the birds that fly across the sky, Come, gather yourselves together for the great supper of God ..." This prophecy sounds very much like God Himself, or this mighty angel, shall issue forth some kind of divine signal to all birds of prey, especially calling them to this field of final slaughter of the soldiers of Antichrist's army. Easton's Illustrated Bible Dictionary states that, in the Israel of old, birds of prey were, "excepting during the winter three months, so numerous everywhere in Palestine as to be almost gregarious (flocking together)".
Since 1948, rainfall has returned to normal ancient levels in Israel, and much of the original type of vegetation has returned; therefore, it should not be too surprising her ancient flocks of birds of prey should return. However, as Dr. Hutchings pointed out, what is really remarkable is that the Jewish citizens of Israel are showing unusual signs of care for these carrion-feasting birds.
RUSSIAN-LED
INVASION OF ISRAEL However, before this climactic slaughter, when Jesus kills the armies of Antichrist, God prophesies similarly against the Russian-led armies attacking Israel (Ezekiel 38-39)
"And you, son of man, thus says the Lord God: Say to the birds of prey of every sort and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves and come, gather from every side to the sacrificial feast that I am preparing for you, even a great sacrificial feast on the mountains of Israel at which you may eat flesh and drink blood. You shall eat the flesh of the mighty and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, of goats, and of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan [east of the Jordan]. And you shall eat fat till you are filled and drink blood till you are drunk at the sacrificial feast which I am preparing for you." [Ezekiel 39:17-18; Ibid.]
Once again, let us check with the Adam Clarke Commentary as to the meaning of these verses. However, we shall pick up the explanation in verse 12 of Ezekiel 39:
"It shall require a long time to bury the dead ... This slow process of burying is distinctly related in the three following verses, and extended even to a bone, ver. 15; which, when it was found by a passenger, the place was marked, that the buriers might see and inter it. Seven months was little time enough for all this work; and in that country putrescence does not easily take place: the scorching winds serving to desiccate the flesh, and preserve it from decomposition ..."
"Gather yourselves to my sacrifice" - This is an allusion to a custom common in the east: when a sacrifice is made, the friends and neighbors of the party sacrificing are invited to come and feast on the sacrifice.
"Ye shall drink the blood of the princes of the earth" -- this is spoken of fowls and beasts here -- rams, lambs, and goats. The feast shall be as grateful and as plenteous to the fowls and beasts, as one made of the above animals, the fattest and best of their kind ... would be to the guests of him who makes a sacrifice.
"And ye shall eat fat and drink blood" - Who shall eat and drink, etc.? Not the Jews ... It is the fowls and the beasts that God invites, ver. 17: "Speak to every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, assemble yourselves-that ye may eat flesh and drink blood;" —Adam Clarke's Commentary
When God supernaturally destroys the armies surrounding Israel and His Bride(engrafted gentiles) (Ezekiel 38-39), they shall lay in great number, so great a number that the persons who would try to bury them shall need some help from on high. God provides this help by sending a Divine call to the birds of prey throughout the Middle East, to come to the battlefield to sumptuously dine on the dead carcasses of the wicked army which attempted to destroy Israel, the "apple of His eye"( meaning pupil of His eye).
As Adam Clarke noted, above, the wording "Gather yourselves to my sacrifice" alludes to an invitation common in the Middle East to invite friends over for a very specially prepared feast. God is celebrating His victory here in this wording, a victory over the enemies of Israel, made certain by His Omnipotent power!
SLAUGHTER
OF THE HOUSE OF ESAU(Edomites)
Finally, God plans to give the birds of
prey a similar feast of human flesh in the slaughter of the House of Esau in Isaiah
34. Let us now examine pertinent passages from Isaiah 34:1-15 as God describes the slaughter He has prophesied against the House of Esau, which are today the Palestinians led by Yassir Arafat in Israel plus an even larger contingent of Palestinians residing in the Jordanian province of Edom and Moab.
"For the Lord is indignant against all nations, and His wrath is against all their host. He has utterly doomed them, He has given them over to slaughter. Their slain also shall be cast out, and the stench of their dead bodies shall rise, and the mountains shall flow with their blood ... The sword of the Lord is filled with blood of sacrifices, it is gorged and greased with fatness—with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams. For the Lord has a sacrifice in Bozrah [capital of Edom] and a great slaughter in the land of Edom ... For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of recompense, for the cause of Zion. And the streams of Edom will be turned into pitch and its dust into brimstone, and its land will become burning pitch. The burning of Edom shall not be quenched night or day; its smoke shall go up forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it forever and ever.

Dr. Hutchings says that the vulture is certainly in view here, even though not specifically mentioned. Indeed, my Mirriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary says this about "vultures" -- "any of various large birds families ... that subsist chiefly or entirely on carrion." Dr. Hutchings may very well be right: the "raven" mentioned in Isaiah 34 includes the vulture.
Cutting Edge has long believed that Israel's slaughter of the House of Esau as foretold in Obadiah 15-18 and in Ezekiel 34 will be the first major battle fought and will result in the fulfillment of these prophetic passages (Read NEWS1422, NEWS1620, and NEWS1625 for full details). The current "unilateral disengagement" plan which Prime Minister Sharon is pushing will provide the required separation of Jewish/Palestinian populations necessary before this slaughter can commence. This war will trigger the "final birth pangs" world war which will produce Antichrist.
CONCLUSION
Thus,
we have three times in End of the Age prophetic Scripture where God prophesies
that He is going to kill so many of Israel's enemies that He is going to call
all the birds of the air which feed on carrion to come to the field of slaughter
to eat the bodies. Is the fact that the Jews of Israel have suddenly developed
a love for the most unlovely vulture another "sign of the times"? I
certainly believe so. Thus, we have two major End of the Age developments in Israel right now:
1) Israel is preparing to carry out God's annihilating judgment against the Palestinians (House of Esau). The separation of population is simply a practical development prior to the annihilation because Jewish leaders do not want to kill their own people.
2) God is miraculously rebuilding the flocks of birds of prey who feast primarily on carrion, the vulture being most common.
While these two events seem unrelated, both point to the reality that God is bringing all details of His prophetic Word to a climax in the Middle East as a single unit. In God's good timing, the first war in which God will call the vultures in the Middle East to come to feast upon the slain; we believe this first annihilating war will occur between Israel and the Palestinians, as we note above.
The time for repentance for all unbelievers throughout the world is speeding by. Turn to Jesus now, before the time for your repentance has come and gone. Truly, the events of this day demonstrate that the End of the Age is close at hand. Are you spiritually ready?
Amazing parallels between the two chapters invite our attention. God keeps His word.
